Ozone Alpha V2The Alpha is a high performance inflatable single strut kite.

It is easy to handle. incredibly light and very effective – an asset to any quiver.

The second version of our single strut kite Alpha V2 offers amazing riding and hydrofoil performance for beginner to intermediate riders. while the lightweight single strut design is perfect for travelers who need to watch weight and packing volume (the 12-place Alpha V2 weighs just 4.3kg. for example).

The Alpha V2 features our new "Continuous Curve Leading Edge Construction." Each segment is curved to form a perfectly smooth arc from tip to tip. as opposed to straight segments with angled joints. A cross sail shaping has been incorporated to perfectly match the sailcloth to the new continuous curve front tube. These latest design features reduce wind resistance and provide a cleaner surface in the most important area of the airfoil. The result is less turbulent airflow. which positively affects the lift-to-drag ratio and increases overall performance.

The Alpha V2 also features our new rip-stop material combination. The new rip-stop canopy material features an advanced Ultra-Flex coating that improves feedback in gustier conditions and provides smoother flight characteristics. The new engineered rip-stop Dacron is super tough and is used on the front tube and struts. It improves strength. durability and longevity.

A brand new Fast Flow one-pump inflation system makes setup and packing quick and easy. It features one-point inflation/deflation and high airflow between the struts and front tube. as well as clips to seal the tubes to prevent unwanted airflow in the event of damage

Variable Bridle Geometry

Quick and easy to change without adding or removing additional lines. These bridle settings expand the wind range of the kite and give it even more versatility.

Freeride Setting

The ideal balance of performance and feel for all-around freeriding. foiling and wave riding in most conditions. The freeride setting is the top knot of the VBG pigtails (factory setting).

Freestyle / Onshore

The kite sits a little further back in the wind window. with increased bar pressure and feedback. For those who unhook or prefer a slightly stronger bar feel. this might be the right setting. It is also suitable for onshore waveriding. The freestyle / onshore setting is the bottom node on the VBG Pigtails.

Twintip riders will be surprised by the jump and kiteloop characteristics of the Alpha V2. It has smooth lift and hangtime with very precise feedback.

The lightweight design provides incredible low-end performance. making the Alpha V2 a very competitive choice for light wind freeride and hydrofoil. The power to depower stroke is progressive and dynamic enough to give smooth lift for tacks and gybes with a hydrofoil. For foiling in strong winds and choppy conditions. the drift of the Alpha’s smaller sizes flown with short lines is a lot of fun.

In shorebreak the Alpha is perfect for drift style surfing as it quickly floats along with the rider due to its light weight. The handling is direct and responsive. The Alpha is not as wave oriented as the Reo. but still offers solid performance in side-shore and on-shore conditions.

Water relaunch is simple. By simply turning the bar or using the relaunch balls on the Leiderlines. the kite rolls into the relaunch position as if automatically.

Traveling? The Alpha fits in any luggage. it is incredibly light. has a minimal pack size and has a very wide range of use.

The Alpha V2 comes standard with an ultra-light compressor bag. perfect for traveling and protecting your kite on a daily basis. The bag is easy to use and compresses a kite to a minimal size. In combination with the technical bag. several kites fit in one carry bag.
